Thank you for reading and for any willingness to discuss!

3.55 GPA at Michigan (4.0 for my first 2 years in CC)
23 AA, 24 TS (lowest score by 2 points was RC at 20)
100 Hrs shadowing
Research
Volunteering occasionally
I am starting a 1-day-per-week dental assisting job
22 and married (may be a factor?)

I plan to open a family practice in rural Northern Michigan (so there's no need to specialize.)

I would appreciate excellent clinical training.

I still do not know which schools offer a better experience for students.

Ensuring admission is my top priority, but I would love a nice, safe town for my wife's sake.

Michigan
Detroit Mercy
Arizona
Louisville
Pit
Western
Maryland
Buffalo
Virginia Commonwealth
Nova
Loma Linda (I am religious- protestant)
Marquette (I am applying despite my CC credit because I like the school and it's close to home.)
Columbia (DAT)
Pacific (See above)
UCSF
Minnesota
North Carolina (cheap and top clinical experience)

Correct me if I am wrong, but my CC credit is keeping me from applying to Tufts, Temple, Boston, and Creighton. (I took Physics I in CC along with Spanish, Calc, and Soc, though all other science has been at MI.)

My lack of anatomy (not my own, but the class  ) is keeping me away from Midwestern and Indiana.

I would definitely take UCSF and UNC off your list, unless you just have money to blow. Pacific is a long shot as well. You do have a shot at Columbia b/c of your DAT; remember, however, that if you're not specializing there's no reason to pay that much money to go to a school known for developing specialists when much cheaper schools offer just as good, if not better, clinical education. I would aim for Michigan; fantastic school.

Agreed! I live in Michigan so that will definitely be my top choice.

So you would take NC and UCSF off because it would be especially unlikely to get into those schools and they aren't anything special if you're not specializing?

I had NC on there because I believe it is inexpensive, but if it would be very unlikely to get in, then I would take it off.
