My file was complete at AZCOM and CCOM both in late november of last year, however I haven't heard anything from them as of yet. What I did receive a day ago though, was a letter from their (Midwestern's) Masters program stating:

"Having taken the MCAT exam, I know your goal is to be accepted into medical school. I hope you have achieved that goal, however not all goals become reality. If your goal needs a little push or redirection, Midwestern University (MWU) can help.

...

Director and Professor,
Biomedical Sciences Program,
Masters of Biomedical Science Program"

Was this some random mailing that they do to all applicants? It seems as if they didn't have any conclusive evidence as to whether or not a status on my application had been reached, yet they knew I had taken the MCAT. I'm just very curious to know as to whether the letter was really sent on behalf of the Masters program, or it was some indirect way of letting me know I'm not being considered anymore.

It still doesn't make sense to me though, because if anything at all, I would not have to worry about raising my GPA. Maybe I should call them and ask?

I got the same letter and I was turned down. Maybe it is just a random letter that they send to everyone that applied to that school.

The Biomedical Sciences Department does not have access to your information in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, therefore, they have no way of knowing your status. You recieved the mailing because you likely checked the "i would like to recieve mailings" box on your MCAT.

It's sounds like a random letter. I didn't received one, but neither has my friend who applied in september and still hasn't heard anything yet. It's just a little shady to get a letter like that from the masters program when you are eagerly awaiting to hear from the med school. I think it is just the masters program giving out information.

I also received this letter. I figured that it was independent of my med school application, and that they were just recruiting students that they know are interested in medicine and midwestern.
Good Luck to all!

I got this same letter or something very similar last year before I was even applying (but after the MCAT). I am assuming they mass send this out to ppl.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the responses! Much appreciated. I had figured it was a mass mailing, but since I couldn't find any threads on SDN about it (go figure, I check SDN for just about everything now), I thought it might be applicant-specific. Anyway, at least I have one less worry now. lol. Thanks!
