Letter from Indiana... What does it mean?

I got an e-mail from indiana today. See below and someone please tell me what it means. I have not interviewed yet so I know it's not an acceptance. I hope its not a rejection because they could have mailed that to me and saved be the trouble. Pleeeeaaaassssee help. I really like this school.


The Admissions Committee has done an initial review of your application and has asked me contact you regarding their initial review of your application. Therefore, I am writing on behalf of the committee in order to request that you contact the Admissions Office to set up a meeting to discuss your application status.

We are delighted to know you are interested in being a part the medical student body at Indiana University School of Medicine. We congratulate you for your pursuit of medical education. Please feel free to contact our Admissions staff to arrange your appointment with me at a time that is most convenient for you.

Wow, that sounds weird. Maybe they have to ask you to clarify something in your application? (could be a technical thing, like a demographic question, or could be essay or activity related) Just some guesses. Weird though, hopefully its good news i.e. interview offer. I don't know how Indiana works, however.

I would have if I could but I got the e-mail at 5pm on Thursday after they were closed and they will not reopen until Monday. Just wanted to know if anyone had an idea of what it might be so I am not in suspense until Monday. Keep your slick comments to yourself!

it could be a residency question. Indiana is huge on Indiana residents. So if you aren't one, don't apply.

Are you guys in state or out of state applicants?
Applying for a combined degree or regular MD?
When was your "complete" date (i.e. the date you got their little post card)?

These factors might help facilitate an answer.

Well I'm outta state and Indiana emailed me asking me to apply sometime in november... I thought that was weird... I mean who gets emails asking them to apply... then again I've also gotten a few emails from DO schools also asking me to apply... so Dunno...
