Letter of "Hello, anyone home?" Should I send one..?

Hello all.

Assuming I want to write a letter saying something to the effect of "what is the status of my application" what should I write? How does one phrase such an email? Is it even advisable?

Please let me know your thoughts and comments, and thank you very much for your time.

Send them an update letter/letter of interest, especially if the schools are receptive to it.

Its easy, it takes 5 minutes. Leave a voice mail if you get no answer. Have you AMCAS ID ready to help them look up your file. This way you get a solid answer. Either they have looked at it, or they haven't.

I found out about my first acceptance by doing this after it had been a little while after an interview.

It is also legit to write an e-mail to the secretary asking about the status of your application. No need to put too much thought into it, though I would recommend emphasizing why you like the school. Also you run the risk of them just ignoring you, then you start to wonder if you should send another e-mail...
