Hi,

I am wait listed at 3 schools that I really love, and would go to any of the 3 if they accepted me. But I can only send one LOI. So do you have advice on how to let all three schools know that I am madly interested in them even with only 1 LOI???

Basically, how can I maximize my chance of getting off any one of the three wait lists if I am only allowed to send 1 LOI? Frustrating system! 😡

THanks for your help!!

send one Letter of Intent that promises to w/d from all other schools. Send the other 2 schools Letters of Interest (which will be the same as your Intent letter, just change that one line that promises w/d'ing from other schools).

you dont need to max out your chances of getting off 3 waitlists--since you said you loved them all equally, just one would be enough! Pick one out of a hat and send them the Intent letter....or just send the cheapest one the Intent letter 👍

you do understand the differences between letters of interest vs. intent, right?
And make sure you write in your letters that you have options at other places, so it doesnt look like youre simply begging to get into medical school this year.

Send a letter of intent to all 3 schools. When the first one accepts you, withdraw from the other two.

Was that so difficult?

You avoid that stupid ethical problem you were worrying about.

👍

Whenever someone mentions ethics on this forum, it just makes me laugh...

OP, this is a heartless process. Every school and every applicant is out for nobody but themselves. Do what you gotta do.

What they said above, send everyone a LOIntent. Then just withdraw once you get an acceptance. First school that accepts you, wins.

The problem with this is that eventually (if they ever did) LOI's will have no effect on adcom's decisions.

Do what you think is best, I guess.
