Letter of Intent vs Letter of Interest

Hi all,

I'm currently waitlisted at my top-choice and was considering writing a letter to tell them they are my top choice. I have already sent two update letters that also included a paragraph each at the end stating that I am very interested in their program but I have not sent any letters dealing soley with intent or interest. I was just wondering, what is the difference between a letter of intent and a letter of interest and should I send them a letter saying that they are my top choice?

I feel like sending two letters makes your intent pretty clear. You can send another if you feel if will make some sort of difference.
