I took my MCATs late in the cycle (August). Did well but I have still not heard anything from many of the schools I applied to. Should I send letters to the schools I am most interested in to maybe sway getting an interview? What should I include in the letter if I haven't been there... ?

there have been others asking the same thing recently...(very recently), so it would probably be quicker for you to just trying searching this thread. Not too many people have come on talking about their success with this but it obviously can't hurt. However, since your file wasn't complete until late in the cycle (I'm assuming end of September if you took an August MCAT) you probably got caught up in the backlog of applications so it's not like you've been complete since July and haven't heard yet. If you are interested in sending a letter they usually come in the form of an "update letter" where you talk about things that you have done or continued since filing your primary and/or secondary and then you follow it up with why you think the school is a good fit for you etc. Other's also do an "in the area" letter but I don't know how those work.

But as I mentioned earlier...try searching.

Letters of intent state that if offered the opportunity you definitively want to attend School X. Letters of interest more or less offer a deeper insight into why you think you'd be a good match for the school. Also, it's pretty unethical to send LOIs (especially where I = intent) to multiple schools just to up your chance at obtaining an interview.

I agree with Bubbles...just do a search. There have been plenty of threads like this popping up recently.
