This. Or you could always write it with invisible ink just to be clever. Those admission folk like to see that sort of thing I'm told...
 
either is fine. I mailed mine because it seemed more formal. But that was 4 years ago. I feel like email is so commonplace now that its formal enough.

That's SOOO early '90s.

I flew out the LA Philharmonic and had them play the new song I wrote just for the adcom entitled, "Ode to Harvard Medicine." A cast from the New York Metropolitan Opera sang the chorus while I sang the verses. We did just before the first round of interview invites was to be sent out. It was epic.
