So I have interviewed at 4 schools (waitlisted at all 4). I sent all four of them update letters in January expressing my interest in the schools. After my interviews in late January and early feb, I sent another letter of interest to one of the choices, and a letter of intent to my top choice.

I've been told that its important to be persistent w/ the whole interview process, especially when on a waitlist, but at this point should I sent another letter of interest to the schools, just to reiterate? I am doing the exact same stuff now i was doing several months ago when i sent my last update letter, so would it be a bit pointless? Should it be a one liner, or a full page like my past letters?

confused....

Hi there-

So I sent my 1st LOI just this week to one of my top-choice schools. That being said I (obviously) have no problem with telling a school that I'm very interested in attending. While I think it's important to keep yourself in the forefront of the minds of those on the Admission Committee, sending another letter stating the same information as last time might be overkill. Have you told them why they're your top-choice or why you think you'd be a good fit there? If you've only included information regarding what you've been up to recently in your last letter maybe you could go through their information packet/website and see what they really value @ the school, then work into your new letter. You don't need to include every point, but if you're really interested in research tell them you what to contribute to this field on their campus or what you'd bring to the program. Hope this helps & good luck! :luck:

Can you find a new shadowing experience or something? Thats what I did, and wrote about that plus other reasons why I like the school, etc. I feel your pain, i'm on 6 waitlists...

I'm going to propose a new program at AAMC where you can exchange 3 waitlist positions for 1 admission. eff this process!!

And to answer your question above, my letter of intent talked about my activities and the strengths of the school, and how i see myself being a fit for the school.

I'll dig really hard to find some new interesting things to talk about in my new letter of interest.

Did you send these letters before or after being wait listed? If they were before, you definitely want to send something post-being wait listed. If they were after, I'm in favor of sending something sometime between mid April and May 15th to at least your top choice.

I sent the letters of interest before being waitlisted. I should definitely send them some sort of update then.
