I've been put on hold status for interview consideration at a few schools. I have received zero interview invites thus far and am starting to get worried. My MCAT is 70th percentile and BCPM of 3.5. A lot of clinical experience but no research. My PS score was really low (08) and I think this is keeping schools from interviewing me.

Should I send a letter of interest updating the schools I'm on hold for of my new extra curriculars that I have started? Will anything I do at this point help?

Might not be a bad idea to update your AMCAS with them. I see no reason why you should not do this.

Well, one reason is he can't do this - no updating of AMCAS once submitted except for phone and address changes, stuff like that.

Sure, go ahead and send letters. May help, don't see how it could hurt.

I would wait until after interview to send LOI.

Updates pre-interview are helpful, but LOI's generally are not. As for your PS score, it's not that bad, and if one were to have a low-ish score on one seciton, PS is the best section to have it in.

Thx to everyone for their feedback. Could someone please clarify the differences between an update letter, letter of interest, and letter of intent? I hear these thrown around SDN and the lines are blurred in my head. Also, anyone found any tips online for what to put in these letters?
