letter of interest texas schools?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was interested in knowing what schools accept letters of interest in texas? I know that UTHSCSA accepts them, but what about the others?

any help is appreciated.

I know UT-Houston does not accept them pre-interview.

I was told that Texas Tech and Texas Tech-El Paso both do not accept any sort of updates to your application when I directly asked both of their admissions offices (except for what you tell your interviewer😉)

that leaves UTMB/A&M/UTSW

I posted in another thread that an update letter (specifically to UTHSCSA) would be helpful. However, it's just my opinion that it is a little to early to start worrying and sending update letters. Waiting a few more weeks might be better, but I could be wrong.

when did you send yours?

I sent update letters to San Antonio, A&M, Southwestern, and Galveston. Only Galveston and San Antonio responded saying it would be added to my file.

was it just grades for classes and activites or letter of interest as well?

3/4ths of it were grades, classes, and activities. The last 1/4th was what I liked about their school.

I sent these two weeks ago. No news yet.

Almost none of the TX schools will accept them pre-interview. A&M said they wouldn't accept any post-interview. UTMB said they would, but they don't hold much weight. TCOM accepts them post interview (but it's, GASP, a DO school 🙄) I've heard conflicting info on TTUHSC for post-interview updates.

i just talked to utmb and they do accept them. and UTHSCSA does so "almost none" is not true.

Semantics? Ok, I'll amend the statement to "the overwhelming majority of TX schools" instead. 🙄

lol the word overwhelming is subjective but general understanding puts it at greater than 90% which is certainly not the case🙄

The percentage of schools that don't accept pre-interview interest letters is HIGHER than the percentage of votes in Congress needed to amend the Constitution. So ya, overwhelming sounds good to me, dunno where you got this 90% business.

i really dont want to veer off topic and start a flame thread so ill just digress from this argument and wait for more input from posters.
