Hey guys, I have to get some LORs for my university's pre-health committee. Two are required from science professors. I have a few in mind, but I'm curious as to whether or not it's appropriate to get one from my physics lab instructor. I've taken her for lab during both semesters. There are two physics instructors at my university - I take one for lecture and the other for lab while other students have the opposite arrangement. She is familiar with my work and we have a great relationship but I just wanted to see if I should avoid getting an LOR from her altogether. Thanks!

Prehealth committees can vary greatly at what they accept, so you would have to ask them to be sure.

Is the lab instructor a real professor/have a doctorate? I know some lab instructors are employed grad students with a masters and not considered TA's but still not real professors.

Yes she is a real professor with her doctorate! I know getting an LOR from a TA (grad student) isn't the best measure to take compared to a real professor, I was just unclear as to whether or not to ask her because she isn't my lecture instructor. Just my lab instructor.
