If I were to submit a secondary and assign four letters of recommendation to a school, what would happen if I added a fifth letter several weeks later. Would this letter still be considered by the school?

If you assign the letter to the school, they will receive it. However, make sure you meet the requirements for each school. Every school differs on their own min/max and variety criteria. Good luck this cycle!
