For those of you that applied to both DO and MD schools, did you have your recommendation writers address the letters to each individual school or address it generically as in "Dear Medical School Admissions Committee"? I am using Interfolio for my rec letter service and want to tell my recommenders who to address the letters to. Also for those of you that applied to both DO and MD programs, did your recommenders write one rec for osteopathic medicine and one for allopathic medicine, or did they write generically about why you would be qualified to be a physician?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I personally had all my recommenders do generic letters. Most of them were writing multiple letters of rec, so I didn't want to burden them with more work than they needed to do. Plus, my letter sending system only held 6 letters. I couldn't have stored all the letters I would have written if they had addressed each school directly. That would have been like 30 letters!

And the only recommender that I had write specifically about DO was my DO. All the others talked about how great of a physician I would be.....

I got into all three schools I interviewed at, so I guess it worked for them.
