hey guys,

i have been debating on which pharmacist i should ask for a letter of recommendation. THe thing is,should i ask the pharmacist who has been working here for 10 years? but i dont work with him much and dont really know him well. Or should i ask the pharmacist who has only worked here for two months? i work with her more and she seems to know me better than the other pharmacist? she is very experienced even though she just graduated from UCSF and has only been working for 2-3 months or so.

I think you should ask the one who you believe will write the better letter of recommendation. If you think the 2nd pharmacist will write you a better one, I would go for her.

are school pharmacy really picky about who write the letter of rec?

well if applicant X submits a letter of recommendation from the pharmacist and applicant Y submits a letter of recommendation from the custodian who cleans the pharmacy, imho i think the letter of recommendation from the pharmacist would be more favorable.

in all serious though, you will want to ask the person who knows you on a more personal level to write the letter. someone who knows you personally will be able to communicate about who you are as a person a lot more and better than someone whom you don't know on a personal level. the person that you don't know on a personal level will simply just communicate about your work ethic and not much else. the admissions officers will be able to see just how hard you work by looking at your transcripts. so having an employer speak about your work ethic and skills and only that really wont compliment your application all that much.
