How important is it to do an away rotation and get a letter of rec at a program with a pmr residency vs one without one?

It is very desirable to do a formal pm&r rotation and get a Lor from a physiatrist. If you have shadowed a pmr doc that is ok but a formal rotation is best for residency apps. Programs want to make sure you understand completely what a pm&r doctor does and their role in patient care after injury. Good luck!

the more respected and known the LOR writer is the more beneficial it will be to your application.
