I sent in the required three letters and am now debating whether to send in a fourth letter separately to all the programs I applied to. My first three were 2 ophtho and one medicine. This fourth letter is from the director of radiology at a community hospital. It is a very strong letter but it says that I will make a great radiologist - no mention of ophtho! Should I send this letter in? I am having a hard time deciding if it will be taken in a positive note or negative note. I am already sending something extra to each program and was wondering if it would be ok to slip this letter into the packet along with the other documents, which are not LORs. Please reaply ASAP!! TIA

i wouldn't...why send something that makes it look like you're not really comitted to ophtho? if your other 3 letters are strong i wouldn't worry about it. if you think this 4th letter will make a big difference in your app, call the radiologist and ask him to reword it.

The letter has one line saying that I have the drive and intelligence to become an excellent radiologist. And then later on it goes on to say that I will make a fine, compassionate doctor.

Is that sending out signals of uncertainty?

s that sending out signals of uncertainty?

Yes.

If you really want to send that extra letter, I would recommend you ask the letter writer to change the tone of the letter to ophthalmology. Sounds like you'll do OK with the 3 you have.

Please reaply ASAP!! TIA
Haha... I hope you're really not having a TIA over this.
