Hello,

I've been waitlisted so far at three schools (won't say which for anonymity), which has been very frustrating -- my interviews all went well, but they're all super competitive schools, so I'm left with this. I know I should be writing letters of interest and updates every so often, but how do I write the letter of interests periodically without repeating myself? Do i just include different aspects that I like about the schools? I only know of one update I can provide too, so I can use that as an opener for a short statement about how it relates to the schools' missions. Otherwise, I don't want to just send "I'm still interested" every month. Could someone please clarify what I should be doing? Thank you!

How would you interpret a non binding contract from a desperate candidate?

I agree that most schools feel this way. But how do you explain the occasional Georgetown who loves to be stroked? How do we know which schools are like this?

@Med Ed - when is it (or is it ever) appropriate to mention a spousal reason for wanting to attend a school? The one school I’m waitlisted at would be significantly more convenient for my spouse’s work. I’m hesitant to send any letters of interest at this point, but was unsure if this would be something I could/should mention at a later date? I’m satisfied with my current acceptances, but this school would be better for a number of reasons.

It's okay when a school is needy, or likes to see applicants grovel.

EDIT: it's not OK for schools to do this, but they do it anyway. Kinda like a crazy SO.
