I am planning on submitting my application this May/June and will have letters of rec from a science professor I am close with, a non-science professor, my research lab, and possibly my supervisor from a job I held all throughout college. I am wondering if I should wait and apply so that I can secure a letter of rec from a physician. I have 300 hrs of clinical volunteering but was unable to build a relationship with any physician because I was constantly shifting on different departments. I just interviewed for a paid clinical spot at a major hospital and am hoping I will be able to secure more clinical hours as well as relationships with the staff. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
So your LOR isn't "due" until you submit your secondary application. They won't even be looked at until you have that in. I would apply when your app is ready. A month later isn't going to make a huge difference.
