so i go to the university of washington, & the undergraduate classes here are 500+ students...especially in the sciences since everyone wants to be a doctor. it's really hard to get to know your professor in chem/bio on a personal level & be able to ask them for a letter of recommendation. do you guys, preferably the public school kids, have any tips on how to get a letter of recommendation from your professors? if i ask a TA i kind of know to write me one, would their letter suffice? i really don't want to try too hard to be friendly with my TAs for a LOR knowing i'll probably never see them again after a quarter. but i think that's what it'll come down to when i apply for pharmacy school next year cause i'll desperately need a LOR. is it weird to just know your TA for a quarter & ask them for a LOR? i don't know how else i'd be able to get an academic LOR. sorry for being so wordy on this post. thanks for your help!

What year are you? If you are early in your undergrad career you can wait till you get to your upper level courses where there are usually much less students in the class. Make it a point to talk to the teachers after class. It would probably look better to have a letter from say a biochem professor than say a gen bio professor anyway. Thats my opinion.

Most schools don't accept LORs from TAs. Go to office hours and ask questions, even if you don't really need to. If you can take classes with a smaller discussion section that can help you out too.
