I applied to take the EPPP through another state (State 1) while I was working to complete my postdoc requirements in my home state (State 2). I passed the EPPP and was licensed in State 1. I then completed my postdoc, applied for, and received licensure in State 2.
It is now time to renew my license in State 1 which costs money and requires me to submit CEU paperwork. My question is whether there is any reason NOT to forgo license renewal in State 1. I never intend to live or work in State 1, it was just a path for me to take the EPPP earlier than my home state would allow due to differing postdoc requirements across states. Is there any negative to letting licensure lapse in a state? Is there some special process I should follow or do I just not renew?
