Postdoc - Supervising from another state?

Hello,

I have tried to search but I can't find anything concrete. I am looking to see if a supervisor from one state is able to sign off on postdoc hours for someone in another state? I would assume they would at least need licensure for the state they are supervising the student in (specifically, Postdoc in IL and supervisor in GA or vice-versa), but is that assumption incorrect?

No. Legally, the issue is "which licensed individual is responsible for the patient". And supervision must be on site.

Probably not because state laws vary and the licensing board would likely require you are supervised by someone licensed to practice in the same state.

This would be a very bad idea for all parties involved. A supervisor must be located physically at the site where the post-doc student is seeing patients and accruing their hours.

This is a very good question for which there is no clear answer that I am aware of. The California board simply will not comment on it, perhaps wisely.
