There's a program that's really recruiting me right now--lots of contact from the PD and have basically stated they want me to come there. I don't think I'm overinflating things in my head, I think they really want me. The problem is I like them, but they're not my #1. In fact, they're probably my #4-5. I just don't have the same feeling for them as they do for me... Sounds like a sitcom dilemma, eh? Any thoughts on a courteous way to handle the situation. I don't want to lead them on but I definitely don't want to burn any bridges. What do you think? 😳

Roadrunner,

I feel like I am in the same position as you (program actively contacting me, would be happy there, however they are likely my number 4-5 on my ROL as of now). The way I am handling it...opening the snail-mail and reading the nice emails, otherwise business as usual. It is somewhat flattering, but I don't feel I am misleading this program because I never sent an email that suggested I was ranking them high. I recommend NOT telling them that you are ranking them in the middle of the pack or not ranking them high. Just rank your programs as you see fit. Do not burn bridges (you never know...you may get your number 4, we all may!, although I certainly hope you don't). Good luck and congrats on being a standout guy/girl! :luck: 😀

It's posts like these that make me worry why I haven't heard much from my programs....LOL

Are you getting phone calls?

Agree with above post, you have not lead the program on by indicating that you would rank it high, so just keep all of those messages in a file folder somewhere in case you end up there. But it would be a mistake to tell the program where you intend to rank them. Let that sleeping dog lie.

And to the other, don't worry about it if you aren't receiving letters or phone calls or emails from programs telling you how bad they want you. None of it matters anyway until the final match alogrhythm has run. You'll be all right!
