Pain Management physician here. I have a few patients on Levorphanol for intractable neuropathic pain. It tends to work quite well for this. Local pharmacy just told me Levorphanol is no longer being manufactured, or is otherwise somehow unavailable. If so, this will be a shame.

Is it possible for any of you to verify this for me? I think it would take resources I don't have access to.

Thanks!

According to Roxane Pharmaceuticals' website, they are still actively manufacturing the 2mg tablets. NDC number is 00054-0438-25. Call a chain pharmacy and ask them to look on Cardinal/McKesson with that NDC number. It could be on backorder like a bazillion other things right now. Independents are more likely to buck and tell you they can't get it because they aren't going to want to deal with the hassle of a niche CII and likely unused stock that will cost them money in the end.

Another option is to see if maybe a compounding pharmacy can make it. It appears that Mallinckrodt is still producing the power for compunding. If you promise them a stream of business for custom capsules, they may just at the opportunity.
