I was browsing and I came across a new DO school that has plans to begin accepting students this summer. Why the outrage over such a school opening and would any of my fellow URM potentially apply there?

Hmm... Maybe because half of the funding came from the Virginia Tobacco Commission. I'm not sure though.

Personally I am anti-new school, unless it's a last resort or free-ride. It's too much BS to deal with as a student and honestly faculty and administration are usually too idealistic lol. They act like they are training robo-doctors who are going to learn everything about everything at a Ph.D. level. "Ain't nobody got time for that."

Oh yeah and Lynchburg is... Well... It's boring. There's a little more to do in neighboring Roanoke though.

I am applying to LUCOM if they are accepting application this cycle.... I think the outrage is because that school was founded by the late Rev. Jerry Farwell...
