Hello everybody,

I had a question about the dentist license.
I'm a dentistry student at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. After my studies in 2014, I plan to move to Los Angeles California because of my husband. Which conditions would I have to meet in order to work as a dentist in LA? The German Dental Study includes 5 years and 6 months for the state exam. I've heard that the conditions are different in all states. In most states, the German license to practice as a dentist is not recognized and I would have to study again at a University for 2 years. But in California, some said I could write directly to the American National State Exam. Is that true? What exactly are the conditions in LA to practice as a dentist and which tests would I have to write?
I would be very pleased if you can give me answers.

With friendly greetings,
Jenny Park

It used be that way until 2004 I believe. Right now you would still need to go to school for 2 years before you could take up te Tate licensure. Good luck !
