What's your opinion on what I'm doing? I became a licensed PTA at the end of 2006 and worked until August 2010 before deciding to go back to get my bachelors and then enter graduate school for DPT. I am working on my bachelors right now with a plan to graduate in May 2012 and start DPT school in Fall 2012. There may be a wrench in my plan due to something that happened today in school but I won't get in to that. What is your opinion on me taking this more than a year long break from working as a PTA for a year? I did some per-diem work in the last months of 2010 but since then I've been out of work completely. I try to keep in touch with my PT/PTA and OT coworkers to see what's new in the field. Am I hurting my self by staying out of work in the PTA field this long? I didn't plan to work while schooling. I saved up some money, invested a little well over the years and have some financial support from people. And being in the PTA field so long I didn't think I'd miss or forget anything. There really wasn't any significant advancements during the time I worked so I figured the field pretty much stays the same for the most part and nothing new is going on in the PT field.
