I got myself in a bit of a predicament. I got angry at my female roommate and pushed her. The _____ went crazy and had me arrested. Even though she was fine, she's now asking for $1200 in hospital fees for a sore hand, or she'll be pressing criminal charges for assault. I'm going to pay the money just to shut her up, but it does bring up a valid question. How do criminal records effect getting licensing or the ability to remain licensed. Unfortunately, the reality is that once your making lots of money, people are going to be very eager to screw you over.

I told u that b**ch was crazy 😀 😀

Are u a hetero male? If so, it's better to make Love than war 😉 give her some loving, everything will be nice and dandy again 😀

Assault and battery is a serious charge, a felony 😱 Having an assault record certainly raise a red flag when you're applying for license, DEA license. I doubt that it'll prevent u from getting licensed tho. I would try to work it out w/ her (refer to the above!) or consult a criminal attorney.

assault is very serious and could be a problem
you really need a lawyer if she presses charges
check your state dental association magazine, i know texas' has tons of ads put out by dental-specific lawyers.

I believe liscencing with a criminal record completely varies state by state.

First of all you will have to put that(criminal record) on your liscence application, if you don't they will still find out b/c you pay for them to do a criminal background check with your liscence fee, and you sign to give them rights to do so, so don't lie, it won't work.

Second, most states have a time limit on certain charges. One guy in the class above me was denied a liscence because he failed to put an assault charge on his application from back in undergrad (he go into a bar fight.). All the wisconsin dental board made him do was go talk to them and explain what happened, and he got his liscence no problem after that.

while I'm sure it will be a setback you will probably still get your liscence, just get it before signing a contract with a start date, because if they deny you it will be a tough one to explain to your future partners.

and dude, get a male roomate. Much less drama.
