I was hoping to get any advice from all of you out there. I just finished my internship-and I really don't know if this is the life for me

I was hoping to find out if there any opportunities that exist for physicians who have a medical license and are interested in something besides the clinical setting. Maybe research? maybe joining an association that has ties into preventive medicine? public health issues? other avenues in medicine

thanks

The long and the short of it are: Yes, there are options. Having your medical license may open up a few more than just an MD (consulting, expert witness (although the rules on this vary by state), public heath (although further training is probably required)). Depending on your debt situation, though, it will likely be hard to find a position that will pay as well as a practicing physician.
