Currently in undergrad, preparing for grad school.

Obviously PT school is intense and it's hard for me to imagine what life would be like after devoting so many years to my studies. My question is: How much does your life change after graduation?

For example, is more busy, less busy, or about the same? I'm just curious! 🙂

They play more CoD after. 😀

Life is great after graduation! I work 4 10 hour days and play the other 3! No school, no studying, no tests, ect. Life is good 🙂

Less busy with obligations, but more busy with all the things you really want to be doing! It really set in around December when I spent the weekends doing holiday things with family and friends instead of studying for finals and finishing projects. My husband says I'm more pleasant too 😳

Same. I work tues-friday...and then pick up extra days on the weekend or monday at $50/hour to pay down debt. Life is good.

Thanks for all the replies, I like what I'm hearing! 👍

While I know that there are a bunch of things that PTs have to deal with after getting licensed and getting a job, it does feel good that those who posted here love what they're doing and working very nice schedules.

Maybe only those with nice schedules have the time or inclination to post here. Just a thought. PT is an awesome profession with the possibility to work as little or as much as you want, but the debt that a lot graduates suffer under doesn't exactly make their lives a cakewalk.

Word. I came out with $240K in debt a year and a half ago. I've been living in a super expensive city(Chicago), working my ass off and putting $2500/month(remember...after taxes) towards loans. But I have a solid job and can pick up hours whenever I want to pay for things. Life is what you make of it...At least we can get a job these days with relative ease...

Same with me too! ha ha. I work 4 10 hour days and have Wednesdays off...it's a nice break in the middle of the week to either catch up on chores, shop when no one else is out, or just chill and be a couch potato. Feels SO good to have my weekends for me and not have to sit behind a book the whole time. 😛

I also live in Chicago but am making do with my loans by continuing to stay at home (where I lived throughout PT school). I pay my minimum due for loans and still have a lot leftover for myself.

You folks are articulating my dream life. 4 day weeks with plenty of flexibility to pick up work on the side. I am sooooo excited to start DPT school in Sept. Thanks for sharing.
