Life Expectancy By U.S. State

Really?
I'd like to know how they pull those numbers out of their back ends because the the deaths of 0-30 are certainly not compensated by the "huge" number of 110 year olds.
Yeah. I don't know. It's obviously just something someone bored at the CDC decided to look at and CNN wanted clicks so they published it, but just the raw data was just a bit interesting. I'm sure we can dig in the weeds and think piece it but just on the surface if you want to live long then live in Hawaii.

Hawaii has a large Japanese population. Both California and New York have a lot of Asians. We live long and hopefully I can follow the trend.

Seems like a slow-paced, simple life with a lot of social engagement promotes longevity. I’m 1/3.

No smoking. No alcohol. Little meat. Heavy on Religion. Lots of exercise.

I’m doomed.
My dad is 75 yo, lifelong non smoker, non drinker, vegetarian (he's Hindu), weighs about 175, walks a few times a week. Just had an NSTEMI secondary to 3v disease. So have two of his brothers. And his dad died of a stroke 50 yrs ago.

Thanks to genetics I'm doomed no matter what I do so I'm just gonna keep pounding cabernets and wagyu ribeyes while staying relatively low carb, continue taking fish oil (and probably a statin at some point although the evidence for primary prevention is weak), and hope medical therapy and PCI has advanced bigly before I go get a coronary CT at age 50 and see the bad news.

Live everyday as if it is your last.
Enjoy life my dude.
Lost an awesome and close friend a few years ago to leukemia. Won the Sea Otter race a few years before he died. Healthiest strongest dude I knew. He was 1/2 time for the last 20 years of his anesthesia career- bike trips across the world. I always think of how he made the most of his shortened life.
