Life on a Ship

  1. How long are you on ships for? And how often do you get these ship-based deployments in 4 years of payback time?

Navy DDS 2010 explained this pretty well at http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=436971&page=15. From what I understand you can expect about 2 years of you commitment being attached to the carrier so when the carrier goes out for training exercises or deployment, you go with. Navy DDS 2010 said you should expect spending 50%-70% of your time during those two years at sea.
