I see the theme of "don't get into this for the money, because there are other ways to make a lot of coin" come up pretty often here.

I guess it's true too, because some lifeguards get paid $200,000+ p/year, have generous benefits, and can retire at half pay by age 50. Nice.

Who cares about the Lifeguards! You will never see them since they work on the beach and you will be chained to the hospital. What is going to reallly sting is working side by side with noctors ("doctor nurses") and adminstrators who will be pulling down the same money as yourself with half the education and working a fraction of the hours!

I WAS a lifeguard and made .05 above minimum wage. I agree with the above, shouldn't be going into medicine if its just about the money, otherwise you'll be disappointed.
