Light Reactions - Cyclic vs Noncyclic

My bio book doesn't even touch base on the difference between cyclic and noncyclic electron transport. Should I know the difference? OR is knowing the basic function of light reactions in photosynthesis enough?

I would know the pathway, cyclic and non-cyclin (they are pretty easy to know) also know what happens where and whta is produced in each photosystem!
