Lights Are On!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yup.. lights went out at about 4:15 p.m yesterday. I work in mid town walked about 20 blocks to the 59th street bridge and walked for another 4 hours to get home... needless to say I could not feel my legs this morning...

I lost power for only about an hour, thank goodness. Of course, I didn't get back internet access until just now.

And New Yorkers really showed that they were made of sterner stuff these past two days. Bravo!!

The gates are flashing but there ain't no train coming.

It's such a relieve that the power has been restored! I felt like living in a cave staying in my dark apartment two days straight! I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

PS For some reason or another, I don't understand why Lower East Side is one the the last communities in the island of Manhattan to have the electricity back on? Do ConEd people do it in an order to first serve the rich neighborhood (eg: Upper East/Upper West) and last the low income people? Just a conjecture. 😉

yeah. I just went to this club called City Streets. It was awfully dark in there (if you know what I mean).
