Do you find that the last week or so the interviews you are getting have limited dates offered?

It seems like all the interview spots can't be nearly gone that soon... and of course as a typical sdn person would do I am trying to read meaning into it...what do others think?

Well, it does make sense. if the programs are getting to their second or third round of invites, they would have limited dates that haven't been filled up by others that were invited before you. I had to reschedule one of my programs 2wks ago and was told they only had 2 dates left. I was surprised to hear that so soon.

Yeah, I am getting the impression that some programs are nearly full in terms of interview dates...Its crazy because the dean's letters haven't even come out yet. I guess Dean's Letters are really just important for determining rank order list.

Deans letters are probably more important in more homogeneous fields. Everyone applying to ortho has great letters, good grades, and stellar board scores. Hard to differentiate. Dean's Letters often can with course comments and class rank and crap. Which can make that easier.

Ask people at top psych programs the standard dev in board scores and you'd probably be pretty surprised.
