Hey everyone,
Im thinking of switiching my major to linguistics, an area that really interests me. I've been ona pre dental track for a while now, currently with a major in nutrition, I'm wondering...would it look bad if I switched? And secondly, how many linguistics majors make it into ds lol?

In my opinion, I think predents should major in biochem or biology. This is because you will be learning the similar stuff in dental school as these two majors and thus, will make dental school easier than ppl who major in other majors.

Especially for those who wants to specialize in dental school where GPA is crucial, I would advice to major in bio or biochem. However, it's perfectly cool to minor in linguistics.

BTW, just major in bio/biochem is not enough, you should try to take the right courses, such as Histology, Biochem, Molecular biology, Physiology, anatomy, etc. as recommended by most of the dental schools.

Here's a tip: stick with whatever interests YOU, and pull good grades. I'm an english major, not a science, so don't sweat it. Just do good in the prereqs and DAT, and you should be fine. Schools like a well-rounded applicant.
