What exactly does a recombinant phenotype mean? Does it necessarily mean it is a result of crossing over or does it mean that the offspring have a genotype not found in the parent?
And does a non-recombinant means that the genotype is exactly the same as one of their parents?
(These questions came to mind when I was reviewing the linkage and recombination section in my review book by the way)
