That’s not “doxing”

Just say, “SDN doesn’t tolerate posting absurd public titles that may hurt their owners’ feelings”
True, but this whole thread's purpose is just to make fun of and belittle how people self-identify, professionally. I don't disagree with many of the comments ... but I also don't think it's professional to post about.

That alone is probably a violation of the TOS:

7. Treat others with kindness and respect. Personal attacks, harassment, or hateful language are strictly prohibited.

"One role of moderators is to address issues with members who disrupt the professional atmosphere of the forums through trolling, harassment, spamming, derailing threads towards political discourse, or other activities prohibited by our Terms of Service."

If people don't want to open themselves for ridicule, they don't need to fake and embellish their titles, their bio, their profile.
(their profiles which they write themselves... and then post publicly in order to angle for prestige/business/jobs/etc)

If people use any and every method and every word to hide that they're a podiatrist, it's not surprising people, especially peers, may find that funny.

If people try to rep training they don't have, that'll probably draw mocking also. Colleages tend to notice that.

...so yeah, it's pretty much that simple.

Podiatry isn't quite on the level of chiropractors for cheezy marketing and gimmicks and products, but it's not far off. I think Bunion King of NY or JAWS Podiatry each knows full well he's putting himself out there... it's worth the cash grab tradeoff. For the "academic" and "ortho" podiatry jokesters, putting 5 or 10 society tags that anyone can sign up for on their job or bio profile is equally funny.

Many things are just that easy: if you don't want legal trouble... don't break the law, don't want to be fat... don't overeat, don't want enemies... don't be a punk, don't want to be caught or mocked... don't bring affair partner to a Coldplay concert and cuddle them at that large public venue. Yep, easy.

And if you don’t agree with the TOS … don’t post. Yep, that’s simple.
