lipids/nucleic acids?

Do we need to know lipids and nucleic acids for our organic chem section?? in my kaplan book it just says carbohydrates and proteins as the last 2 chapters...theres nothing about lipids or nucleic acids....but i see in chads vids he includes them? i was under the impression i didnt need to know this topic that fully, at least not for ochem
 
Know their general structure & polarity. For lipids you should also know saponification.
 
yes, you don't need to memorize the R groups, but know which one is polar and nonpolar and 2 other groups for the amino acids. also know basic structure, bonds made and broken.
