Congratulations! Maybe I'll get a call eventually
Thanks, and I have talked to people from my school who are applying, but alot of people from around here want to get away and go to like UT Memphis. A girl who is in one of my classes already got accepted there at UT and is probably going. So I'm pretty sure alot of people who they accept will end up going somewhere else. How did your interview go? Did you feel good about it? Good luck! Hope you get a call soon! let me know WHEN you do :xf:

I guess I was on the list!! Laura called me late this evening and I'm in!! It was a long wait but well worth it. 😀

yay!!!!!! congratz!!!! im glad i could give you a little hope today that you were on that list!!!! so r u def going next year? I am for sure. It was pretty much the only school I went for because I had also applied to etsu and belmont...but once I went to see Lipscomb I kinda quit putting any effort into the other two...I just knew I wanted to go there even if I had to wait another year....crazy huh?

Yeah, Im pretty sure Im going to stick with Lipscomb, they were awesome!! Although Ill probably go to the interview at Belmont. It will have to absolutely blow me away to change my mind though. Ive heard Lipscomb has a great staff but Belmont will have the facilities. I think the staff is more important. 🙂

Im not sure Belmont will have better things because lipscomb I read on here began working on their pharmacy school like a year earlier than Belmont did. Go back and read the old posts comparing Lipscomb and Belmont when they first opened. It is pretty helpful.

I'm really hoping that's what happened because I loved everything about Lipscomb. I thought my interview went pretty good but it was my first one and I was pretty nervous plus I'm not the best interviewer in the world to begin with, but overall I was pleased with it. I'm sure it could've went better but I think I did about as good as I could have so I'm trying to keep hope!

To CSCCPharmD, congrats! I think you'll definitely like Lipscomb better than Belmont, I didn't really like their program at all. The staff at Lipscomb was much nicer and more approachable and the students at Belmont didn't seem very enthusiastic about going to Belmont either. Three out of the four that I talked to were only there because it was the only place they got in...Which isn't a bad reason, but everywhere else I interviewed everyone went on about how much they liked their school. But, hope your interview there goes well anyway! Congrats again on Lipscomb, maybe I'll see ya there in the fall! :xf:

Citro, thanks for the feedback. Now you got me thinking I don't want to go, and part of me doesn't want to anyway because I don't want to mess with it...lol. I WILL see you there in the fall. Seriously, I think everyone at our interview, except maybe one or two, should get in, and especially if I did, because to tell you the truth I thought I did horrible at the interview. It was my first one and I flat out could not answer one of the questions they asked me because it through me off guard so bad. So hang in there, and I'm with jmw6t on this one too. If anyone gets a shot at Memphis they are probably going to take it, even though Lipscomb is clearly the better school now 😎 lol j/p.

congratulations to those of you who have already been accepted. i was at the dec. 3rd interview and it was a great experience as well. i am a deferred dicision so i'm trying to keep an open mind and hopefully things will work out. ut mem is an established school but lipscomb will eventually be second to none with their facilities and the friendly and encouraging staff. i attended as an undergrad several years ago and my sister played bball there so i'm familiar with the school..its a great atmosphere.

I fricking LOVE lipscomb! There is only one school that is ahead of them on my list.. Wayne State.. and that is only due to that being 20 minutes from my house and ~$60,000 less in total (not including living!) ((public school in Michigan))

I loveeeeee Lipscomb! Everyone there is so friendly and kind, and I think that the experience of going there for pharmacy school would be an awesome experience! My boyfriend and I have both gotten accepted there, and have put our deposits down already 🙂 I love Laura and their staff seems so accommodating and friendly!

Maybe (hopefully) I'll see some of you guys there in the fall! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

And Josh (I think Josh.....CSC).. congrats on getting in!!! 🙂

I agree with everyone..Lipscomb is wonderful...and Cshell, I understand where your coming from if I didnt live really close to Lipscomb i probably wouldnt be so set on it. But it would cost me as much to go to any other schools even public ones because UT memphis is a pretty long haul from Nashville area and after living expenses ther I would be out the same amount. So im really lucky to be so close to two private pharmacy schools. and to add to the note about UT mem being very established, at lipscomb we have the luck to have the former assistant dean of UT mem as our dean, so not only is he getting Lipscomb off to a very good start...Almost EVERYONE around here knows him. So with Lipscomb there are many opportunities, and yes I agree Laura is wonderful as is everyone else there! and nashville is wonderful because there is alot to do, but not as bad as some cities about traffic and getting around! I also love the small class size and the awesome relationships the students seem to have with their professors. In my interview I had two interviewers and a student, and the entire time the student and her teacher were having a good time and joking around. and she said you will see once you have some of these guys in class and remember how nervous you were at first and laugh about it. Im very excited to meet everyone and get off to a good start. And you guys that were deferred, i read on here from the last yr and it seemed like ALOT of people got pulled from deferrment as time went on! 🙂

It definitely seems like everyone who goes there falls in love with it.. for sure! I know why! I went on several tours and met with Laura outside of the interview (my sister lives in Spring Hill & we made arrangements when we were down visiting)... and that was the first time I fell in love! haha.

In my eyes, if it were only 20,000 more for the entire program, we would definitely suck it up and go.. but being that for both of us, it would be ~120,000 more in loans at the end (plus more for living!).. that is just wayyyyyyy too much! BUT if we both don't get into Wayne, we definitely don't feel like we are sacrificing going down to Lipscomb! As said before, love that school!

You had 2 interviewers & a student? Was that a good thing you think? I had a community pharmacist and a professor.. the professor was so unbelievably nice! Seemed very kind 🙂

Where do you guys suggest living down there? I've started researching already.. but being that I live 9 hours away.. there is only so much I can do over the internet 🙂 My boyfriend and I would want a 1 bedroom w/ washer & dryer in the apt... in a place that is 10 minutes or less away! Is there any reasonable places around that you guys suggest in particular??? 🙂

I have a friend who has been going to belmont for the past three years of our undergrad so I will ask her what good places people live at around there. Truthfully, my boss and her husband are both pharmacists, and even if you two both went to Lipscomb, you could def. use one salary after graduation to live off of, and the other to strictly pay off your school loans (which with a pharmacist salary entirely devoted to school loans...would prob take at max five yrs.). Then, once you pay that off...your home free! Idk...just a suggestion but its always nicer to have less to pay off. And yes my interview had a community pharmacist ( randomly ended up being the neighbor of my uncle who is a doctor....strange....but he had never met me before that or anything....)and a teacher who was really funny...and also a student. I think having the student in there was a big plus because she was a VERY friendly girl who wasn't uptight at all and made me feel really comfortable. But i will do some research for you with my friends who know nashville very well and let you know about the

best places to live. 🙂 ooooh and im sorry you guys had to pay 1400 in deposits if you decide to go to Wayne....:-/ i was surprised that Lipscombs was more than Belmonts...lol

$1400 is well worth it =) I don't consider that a waste by any means.. I love Lipscomb! 🙂 Thanks for looking out!

I created a group on facebook for those accepted/planning on attending this fall! Here's the link... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=284560872384

Thank you cschell!! And yes I am Josh, what is your name I don't think I've asked (or remember). And jmw.. I would love to have that info also. I live about an hour and a half away, which is drivable I guess but thats a lot of time on the road that I could be studying. Any other guys out there that are accepted and need a roommate let me know! I guess it's a little early to be thinking about it, but I'm ready to get started, lol, I'm out of school until we start and going to be bored.. but anyways cschell I hope to see you and your boyfriend at Lipscomb!

ok i will post it all on here for you guys when i get the info. Where are you from CSCC? I am really excited about starting too...except I still have classes to finish up this semester 🙁 boo!

That sounds great, thanks!

And Josh, my name is Crystal! =)

Hopefully I'll see you guys there in the fall! Make sure you join that group!

I unfortunately also have a semester of organic labs and physics ahead of me.... yuck

I am from Lawrenceburg, small town south of Nashville bordering AL, but I done my undergrad at Columbia State CC in Columbia. I'm in my fourth year, took me forever to decide on a major until someone from my school got into Lipscomb two years ago, so I decided to give it a shot. I finished up my AS and prereqs last semester. Guess you could say I took the cheap route until now.

It's a smart route! Think about how much money you saved over the years! 🙂

I was at the interview January 21st if anyone else was.. but I got a call Friday from Ms. Ward telling me that I was accepted.. yay!!! I am so excited! Hope to see some of yall in the Fall!! 🙂

Yeah, I go to MTSU, its about 6 grand a yr...🙁 which is pretty cheap for a university, but schools really like our pre-pharm/science program and I live about 20 minutes away from school, so I just live at home still. I didn't get off too bad! I'm only a junior, and I'm glad im saving the money by going to Lipscomb next year instead of paying for another year of undergrad. I had a friend at MTSU who was from Columbia, it is pretty far away, as far as somewhere you would want to drive from every day!! 👎 ALOT of my highschool friends went to UT knoxville for undergrad (because its a huge party school ), but I chose to save the money and my grades and go to the close university to home... besides, most of them flunked out and ended up back in the hometown anyway lol. When you came to Nashville Cshellh did you look around much? or did you not have time?

Don't feel bad, I have to finish Organic 2 this semester too...AND history...🙁 I am currently enrolled in Physics 2 because I was planning on getting my B.S. in Biochem next year if I didn't get in this year...but now I'm gonna drop it probably. Save me alot of stress 😱

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Its so exciting! I already can't wait!😍

o chem 2 and physics 2 aren't too bad.. you will get through them!

jmw6t, Thank you!! I know it is such a great feeling! I was driving when she called and I pulled into a parking lot to celebrate! 🙂 Are you for sure going to Lipscomb in the Fall??

Cool, I actually was planning on going to MTSU this year. I had been accepted and registered and looking at apartments and everything, but my chemistry professor at Columbia State talked me out of it. He is big at Samford in Birmingham, and he was confident that I would get in, even though I really did NOT want to go there. I don't like Alabama, lol. So I decided to save the money. Cost of living is unreal.

Yeah, add thirty more minutes to that drive and you would have my drive from L'burg to Murfreesboro, and it is long.... I've drove it a lot the past year when I thought I was going there and plus I took the PCAT twice there. It's probably pretty close to what I'd have to drive to Lipscomb from home, soo no way jose. I'm moving.

Congratulations Belle!!

Oh yeah, I can safely say I have not spent one dime on my tuition or books the last four years. 😎 How about you Crystal? Belle?

jmw6t, Thank you!! I know it is such a great feeling! I was driving when she called and I pulled into a parking lot to celebrate! 🙂 Are you for sure going to Lipscomb in the Fall??
Yes I am, It was my number one choice 🙂. Are you?

Oh REALLY? Yeah your grades look good enough where you don't have to worry about where you go. As long as you have a really high GPA from a CC it shouldn't matter and your pcat is excellent too. I took it there in OCT....lol I sure didn't like going back to school on Saturday to do it either! 😡 lol but now it was WELL worth it. 🙂

I'm trying to finalize my supplemental, but lipscomb asks for a character reference as a recommendation. I already have in my recommendation file a composite letter which includes refrences from professors, past supervisors, etc. I also have an additional letter from another professor too. What exactly is this character reference letter. I know the school will accept my composite letter and pull out those letters which are from a previous supervisor, but I want to make sure I don't have to get an additional letter??

My character reference letter was my first supervisor I ever had at my first job because I worked there along time and she got to know me as a person. I also had a letter from a pharmacist I work for. Then my composite letter was only from school. If Lipscomb already has your composite letter in which you think may also provide you with your character reference, log into pharmcas and at the righht menu of your application there is a menu and a thing that says supplemental materials. If you have fulfilled this requirement it will say a date under date recieved in the Lipscomb section of your supplemental materials. Hope this helps and good luck

Does anyone know when the last interview date is? I know they plan on interviewing 225 or 6 during ten weeks but two of those weeks were during christmas and new years..

All I know is that people were talking on here last year and it seems like their last interview dates were in April. So there is probably PLENTY more to go around, because our interview group was really small ~20 and not everyone was accepted anyway, and also many who were accepted might not actually go. Have you interviewed?

I interviewed dec. 3rd and there was 26 of us I think. I would hope to hear something by march so I'm not late completing fafsa and so I can take the remainder of my vacation days at work.

I know what you mean its annoying to not know what your doing next and not being able to prepare in time.

Laura just called about my interview invite, for feb 9th! I'd like to get in here, a friend of mine got accepted already

Lipscomb is an amazing university. The faculty and staff are caring and helpful which is a huge plus when considering any pharmacy school. I was fortunate to attend as an undergrad and I'm sure their pharmacy school is the same or even a step above what I experienced. Good luck on your interview.

Does anyone know if this is the next interview date or if there is another one between now and then?

I think they just had an interview because the committee met last thursday and accepted a bunch of us from earlier interview dates, but im not sure but it seems like feb 9 is probably the next date I don't see how another one would fit between now and then....

Thanks for the good luck wishes! Feb 9th is the next one, I asked about rescheduling because I have a test on that day (hopefully my professor will let me take it on an alternate day) and she said that the closest other date was feb 18th

I have an interview coming up ...yay!! I was just wondering around what time did those of you who have already interviewed get done for the day?? It says to be there at 7:45 am, will I get done early enough to fly out that night??

My interview lasted around five hours and it concluded with lunch with all the faculty and the others who interviewed. I left around 1:30 because I had to go to work, but it, schedule wise, ended at around one.

yeah I think you eat around 1230 and after that you can leave but I stayed till around two because its beneficial to you to MaKE SURE you talk to everyone with a white name badge because many of those people are the ones who will be meeting directly after your interview to decide on acceptances. so the more people you meet and strike up conversation with, the more likely you are to stick out to them during their decisions. 🙂

Wow thanks for the great advice, I would definitely stay for a while and talk anyways... I think it would be rude not to. I just wanted to make sure that it would be okay if I scheduled like a 6 or 7:00 flight home

congratz and yes you should be fine...i really think that making sure i met everyone helped me get in...

Does everyone wear suits to their interviews or is just a pants/blouse/jacket ok?

At my interview, all the guys had suits on, the girls had skirts or suits. So I'd definitely wear a suit. You want to look professional! Good luck!

I heard that you have to write an essay when you do your interview.... how was it?? How long do they give you? I'm so nervous!!

There is an essay portion to the interview, but don't be nervous. Its part of the process they use to evaluate you as a potential candidate. They allow plenty of time to answer a basic question similiar to what you might be asked during the individual interview.
