Hi y'all, I made a similar thread about 2 months ago, but I've refined my list and have essentially completed the other sections of my AMCAS by now, so hopefully it's okay for me to double-dip lol. I am in the process of finalizing my school list and any input would be super helpful.

Some stuff about me:

State: TX, state school
GPA: 3.96
Major: BME
Demographic info: URM: Hispanic, Spanish is my first language, do not consider myself disadvantaged.

MCAT: 522 (129/130/131/132)

Extracurriculars:

Research:
500 hours with 3 different labs. No publications, was on track to get my name on a paper within the next few months, but the pandemic made that not possible. One poster presentation. Projected 200 more hours by May 2021.

Clinical Volunteering: 160 hours of clinical volunteering through local hospital program (time roughly evenly split up between a gift shop, Neuro Department nurse aid, cancer accreditation desk-work, and Emergency Department nurse aid). Projected 100 more hours by May 2021.

Non-clinical Volunteering: 110 hours as an online crisis counselor (projected 100 more by May 2021), 20 hours doing science clubs at a local elementary school through university org.

Teaching/Tutoring: 270 hours tutoring university students in organic chemistry with 180 more projected by May 2021, 36 hours helping to TA freshman engineering lab class, 20 hours of ACT/SAT tutoring for a company. All of these were paid positions.

Leadership: 3 separate leadership positions with the same co-ed professional engineering fraternity, with the latest position being an elected officer position. ~80 hours total.

Shadowing: Shadowed a vascular surgeon for 160 hours over a summer.

School List:

(TMDSAS)
1. UTSW
2. UTMB
3. McGovern
4. Long
5. A&M
6. Texas Tech
7. Texas Tech - El Paso
8. Dell
9. UT Rio Grande
10. UH

(AMCAS)
11. Baylor
12. UCSF
13. UCLA
14. NYU
15. Cornell
16. Columbia
17. U Penn
18. U Pitt
19. U Michigan
20. Pritzker
21. Duke
22. Mayo Clinic

I understand all of my AMCAS schools are ambitious. I am a bit worried that they are too ambitious, especially given my relatively low clinical hours and volunteering hours. What do you guys think?

As a Texas applicant, you also will more likely attend a Texas school due to low in-state tuition. I can't imagine them passing you.
