Hey how about everyone listing their DAT scores for 2009-2010 applications. Would be wonderful insight for applicants. Thanks in Advance.

please, why don't you start us off, mr. 30s-across-the-board (and i'm not being snide)!

Hey Man, I was just wondering to know ppl's score this terms, coz Lot of ppl are complainig that they had hard tests and others had easy test..so based on DATEs taken we can co-relate grades and its trend.

Great! A thread where people can see all the scores! Being depressed is one click away.
No need to search multiple threads to find all those perfect scores. Now you can find them all in one place!

Fascinating idea.

so far, I can tell there are at least 4 versions of the exam

the incredibly super tough piano
the well-known Frappacino
the piece of cake crocodile and,
the semi-medium rare bridge

why not do a poll and see if the avg AA has a direct correlation to the different versions. i.e. crocodile version has significantly higher AA etc.

nze82 mentioned this before, but the test you get is completely random and they try to make each test the same difficulty level so that schools can compare scores between 2 students that took 2 different tests (there is a lot more detailed analysis about how they construct the test, with percentages or the questions test takers getting right and so on in the DAT user manual i think). A test that is hard for one person may be extremely easy for another (like yourself) and vice versa. There are so many other variables other than the test itself that may lead to lower scores (ex: length of studying, efficiency of studying, types of materials used, nervousness on the test day, etc.) and the people that have high scores deserve them.

i think this is slightly falso. they standardize test scores according to percentages, so not each test is exactly equal, but according to the percentages, it is. a person who scores in the 75% percentile on the extra hard test gets the same score as the person who scores in the 75% percentile on the semi-demi-godly test. it rates how you compare to others who took the same exam. the tests aren't that much different, but your scores are standardized and therefore, the fairest possible.

I have no clue how they format the test, but does anyone think it is at all possible that one person that got pianoed may have had 2 other passages completely different than another person who got pianoed. Or that somebody that was unfairly frapped, got the same OChem section that some people scored really well in and only got a 17. I highly doubt there are 4 concrete tests. With as many sections and as many questions as there are they can give a lot of different tests just by mixing it up in the different sections and it can still be standardized. Would anyone agree, or am I way off base?

my keyword is "at least"

Well for those of you worried about QR here is a permutation and combination question.

Assume there are 5 sets of questions for each section. How many different tests could be formed on a 6 section test(i.e. Bio, Gen Chem, O Chem, PAT, RC, and QR) by taking one out of the 5 sets of questions for each section?

I honestly think that these wild conspiracy theories are counter productive. Probably the best thing I did was stay away from these forums when I was preparing for the DAT.

It's great if you don't read into these posts, but when nerves are getting the better of you, it's easy to get sucked into this stuff.

When I went into the test...I honestly had no idea what to expect (knew about this forum, but rarely visited, did a few times to gather ideas for DAT study material and that's it).

Well, I did get the crocodile passage (which I thought was kinda hard) but after taking the test and coming here, I find out I had an "easy" test....

One of the best things you can do for yourself before taking the test is to have a clear mind with zero expectations and confidence in the amount of studying you have put in.

I couldn't agree more, I made it a goal to not surf this site until I was done with the DAT. For me it was counterproductive.

When i was taking the test.. i totally forgot that piano or frap existed.. even after reading all those crazy posts about them.. they didn't once crossed my mind until i was on the train home after the test haha.

Anywayz, I got the version that no1 else on this forum has ever mentioned.. and i've been stalking every1's scores for the past 3 months... 😕

Any1 got the test version with cancer, exercise (in terms of stress), or brain receptor passage?

I think posting these scores really help. Here is what I got. I did bad on several sections. The QR section was much harder than anticipated, I scored like 24 on the Kaplan practice ones because they were so much easier. Overall I think I am happy but I don't really know what other people made so I'll start it off.

PA - 22
QR - 17
RC - 20
BIO - 17
GC - 22
OC - 21
TS - 20
AA - 19

Let me know what you think and which schools you think I can get into. My GPA and science GPA are about 3.3 from UT =(.

I got this version last year. The RC was unbelievable. Every questions were tone and inference type. I thought it was tough.

I think guys, When U receive your copy of grades, they say on it..that they will just report the STD scores and not the Percentile. I think there is not later playing around with the scores once you got your copy. U can always also request your personal Copy from ADEA, that might contain exactly the scores..they will send to schools..

ANd yes, I think they pick the questions randomly..there is not fixed version of test in this Kind STD test. WEll more thoughts are welcomed!!

I think I had the same version as you..It was all about Brain, Ion channels and Cancer..yes..I had those passages..

So true... I had one person a year ahead of me who kind of mentored me for my DAT and his most important piece of advice was to stay away from SDN. I didn't come to the forums till I finished it and it was incredible advice. I had no idea that my piano passage was the hard one, I didn't know that Achiever was way too hard so when I got like 17s on it, I studied like a mad-man because I was convinced I was gonna fail it...avoiding SDN helped with all of that.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot....

AA/TS/PAT = 24/25/20

However, I had the easy test....

So, recalculate my scores as you see fit.

Hey How do u see DAT trends for this year? Like how many people are doing good, how many got above some average? How do u see all that? EXCEPT for predents.com becoz..I dont trust it.

Why? I would imagine an interactive forum is more likely to attract trolls than a little tracker site. Although, there IS some guy on predents that got a 42 TS. Something about that score makes me doubt his honesty...
