List of Narrow Therapeutic Index Drugs

Does anyone know of a reliable site where I can find all the narrow therapeutic index drugs? I have searched the FDA website (probably the most confusing website in the world!) but I dont think I have the full list yet. Thanks!

I'd also offer aminophyllne/theophylline and levothyroxine - not because it has such a narrow theapeutic index, but because switching brands causes such large swings in blood levels.

Did you also add cyclosporine - not really a narrow index drug, just not a substitutable drug.

I dunno - the chemos don't have such a narrow therapeutic window. Their dosing can change dramatically on what cancer is being treated. True - you get the dose too high (or dose it for too long over a lifetime, depending), you get significant morbidity. But...there is wide variation in dosing and sometimes high doses are used beyond what is normally thought of, but later we find it has become the norm for a particular cancer.

TCA's - same thing - for the same LBW person, the amitriptyline or nortriptyline dose can be low or high depending on what is being treated - pscych sx, insomnia or pain.

I think of a narrow therapeutic window drug as one in which the actual dose is such that going above that is dangerous. Now, with dig - true, we give folks really large loading doses or to convert an a fib, so temporarily, the plasma level will be high. But, we can't let that go on too long.

Perhaps others have a way they actually think of these drugs......
