Cornell received my app yesterday, but I didn't get an e-mail. When did they transmit for you??

Do schools request secondaries in the same chronological order in which primary AMCAS applications were submitted (ie those who submitted June 3rd get secondary requests before those who submitted June 15th?)

Yeah I want to know the answer to the above post as well, when did Jefferson e-mail secondary and when did you submit? I am wondering because I was expecting a secondary from Jefferson...hmmmm

Yeah, I had the same question. I got an e-mail saying that I could check my status online, but I didn't get a secondary over e-mail. MD Tom, could you clarify?

yeh, I got an email secondary from rush, but I haven't got one from Jefferson or Cornell and both have been transmitted...wtf!
does cornell screen for secondaries?
I submitted my app 6/24 and got processed 7/01

Baylor's secondary can be accessed directly online... my AMCAS is still "active" but I have already commenced my Baylor application without receiving an email from them.

Is anyone having problems with the Jefferson online app. I can't find out how to pay them, and it says they already have my letters which I have not sent.

songoku,

where did you get UF from?? i know they screen before sending out secondaries, so it's hard to imagine they have already transmitted, screened, and sent you a secondary. if they did, congrats. let me know

Okay, I got the scoop of why some of us whose apps seem to be transmitted (from the welcome page of AMCAS) are not receiving secondaries. If you go to the print option it will tell you which schools also have the "hard copy or paper format of your AMCAS" if the school is not on your print (which for me Jefferson and Rush are not although they show up as transmitted on the home page) form then they do NOT have your application yet.

Omisoc,

Sorry about the vagueness of my original post. I am in the same position that you are in. I have received an email with online ID and password, but that is all. I was just informing the thread of the status of communication. Which is why I put

UCSD -- email

again, sorry about the vagueness.

SDN is da' bomb diggity... where would we all be in our neurotic application process if it we didn't have our online self-help-website? 🙂

I also got an Email from UF stating that I would be receiving a secondary by regular mail. I am a FL reseident.

for the schools that don't prescreen for secondaries, could you all post the links to these secondaries (assuming that they are documents, and not web forms)? that way those who haven't been transmitted yet can get started.

wait, i'm confused now, yes I am an idiot but I wasn't aware of this at all.

the AMCAS website says "transmitted" to seven of my schools so far (when you look at the main webpage it says date transmitted), but I have not received any e-mail from any of those 7 scools about secondaries? Does this mean I have been rejected right off the bat from these schools???? I'm confused🙁

No, go to the print your application option on the left of the main amcas page, on the print version it will say which schools actually have your amcas. This means that just because the main home page says X or Y schools have been transmitted, the schools do not necessarily have the application, I know it sounds weird but it is true. For example, on my home page 19 schools say transmitted but on the print version only 17 show up, so two schools Jefferson and Rush still do not have my application. I called Rush, and they told me that this is because some schools only use the PAPER version of AMCAS while others use the electronic version. On the home page of AMCAS it lists the schools that have the electronic version transmitted, but some schools want the paper version go figure, that is were the print option tells you the whole deal.

No. Just give them a couple of days.

Sorry, I don't have my MSAR at work with me and can't find this info on their website.... does cornell screen for secondaries?

It really doesn't, it just says they will send out emails when they receive info from AMCAS. maybe that means they don't?

There's a thread that lists them all with links from a few days ago. Do a search about secondaries and you should find it.

There are links to seven secondaries on that thread. What I had in mind was to compile all of these links to the secondaries of the dozen or so schools that have recieved transmissiosn and sent emails, to make them all available in one place.

Well, those seven send secondaries to everybody regardless of them receiving amcas, what you want is all secondaries? confused here.

it would be great if we could compile all of the online secondaries so that those of us who have not yet submitted can still get started

maybe we should also compile the links for schools that have their secondaries available online (e.g. GW, Tulane, WashU, SLU, etc). Many of the links from the old thread are broken.

whoa!
checked out what efex101 mentioned and on my printed app there aren't dates for any transmissions!

also, my app to ucsd hasn't even been transmitted and others have gotten secondaries. is it possible for schools to have only the apps of in-staters transmitted?

ok, just got off the phone with admissions at jefferson. they are having MAJOR technical problems with their secondary application. the secretary also said that they didn't even send out half of the secondaries before the problems started, so no reason to stress for those of us who haven't heard from them yet. they're going to continue sending them out via email tomorrow when the problems have been alleviated.

what was the suny upstate secondary titled? because i think i may have deleted it on accident.

I hate to ruin your theories about transmission data only being true on the "print your application" portion of the AMCAS, but sometimes we just have to accept that AMCAS has major problems. My "printed" application does not list WashU or Baylor as having been transmitted, but I received emails from both of them telling me to fill out their online secondary applications. They were just general emails sent out to everyone (they just want your $), but they would only know about it if they had received my AMCAS application. The first page of AMCAS says it was transmitted, but the "printed" version doesn't. I know this only confuses those trying to make sense of AMCAS, but don't try to find order in mass chaos.

too bad, you don't get to go then

Hey guys,

Anyone have the URL for Cornell? I've been transmitted, but no secondary.

D

i am very confused 🙁 i too got the email from UCSD a couple days ago, but AMCAS still says they have not transmitted. on the other hand, Cornell has transmitted, but I haven't gotten an email from them yet!!

i also have a Q about the Jefferson sec-- what the heck should we write in the "optional addt'l info" box? should we definitely try to say something, or is it ok to leave it blank? it doesn't seem like the sec can give the school any more info than what is provided in AMCAS (other than letting them know you've got ties to the school). am i missing something?😕

Adding University of Chicago -- email

Chicago's secondary essays are so redundant! I've already addressed most of their topics in my personal statement... grrr.
