I remember reading about secondary screens at some schools on MSAR. When I finalized my school list, I visited each website individually to learn about their process and what they deemed uncompetitive.

Premeddit madlad Eshado called around to 60+ schools to ask about hard screens last year and created this list. It only applies to hard screens to receive a secondary through, so if there’s a screen after that, it may not reflect that

I appreciate the work people have put in here, but I wonder if there is the stated hard cut off that is published to attract many paid applicants. And then the unwritten rule cut off. I love how all these schools say 500 and 3.0, but when you look at the results posted this cycle, It's rare to see anyone under 508 and 3.4. That seems more realistic to me, unless the applicant has some real challenges and hardships.

Thats great info @Jeremy Bearimy, thanks for sharing! I know there's schools where you can look at the MSAR and say, "I have a 0.1% chance of getting in with my current GPA", but I just want to make sure none of those schools will laugh as I get screened out by a computer the second I send them my money. I'm just looking for a shot, and don't want to include a reach if the 0.1% drops to 0%. Besides, I feel lucky.

There are people with sub-3.0 GPAs that were somewhat immature in undergrad and graduated with 2.1s, worked for a while, and then did 30 to 60-credit DIY postbaccs, earning close to 4.0. The them of now is not the them of then. If they managed to do well on the MCAT and get good ECs, there is no reason why they can’t academically hack it in medical school. Many MD schools want or welcome reinventors like this.
