I was curious as to when DO schools tend to send out secondaries. Here is a list of dates I found by looking through all of the discussion threads from the '15/'16 cycle. I don't know how consistent schools tend to be with these dates from cycle to cycle, but for fellow neurotics out there.. it may help cope.

It's missing a few schools, but I found most of them:

Quick question -- I've submitted primaries and am verified, but only received confirmation from OUCOM that they received my application. Do most schools not send the confirmation email that they received your primary application?

How long is a typical secondary essay?? I remember someone said the prompt for one was 500 words....maybe they meant 500 characters?? 500 words is like 2 pages double spaced haha

BCOM is legit 500 words, I received it today in the morning-- but i've heard some are multiple questions (500-750 words each question) so i'm thankful

Oh lawd....I better relax this weekend in preparation for the monstrosity that is a secondary essay prompt lol
What's a good time frame to return the secondaries? I heard as early as 2-3 days is best...

Anybody receive a secondary without an MCAT score? I know it is highly unlikely.. But after I take my MCAT this Saturday I'm going to be so bored and I wish I could work on secondaries.

I might just work on a 500 character, "Why D.O.?" response at the very least and/or a 500 character, "Why school X?" for my top 5 choices if there aren't any schools that have sent secondaries to students without MCAT scores before.

If you look at SDN threads from last year, you'll be able to find the secondary prompts. With the exception of TCOM (which was changed), they're generally the same. You can also look at the 2016-2017 threads as people get them.

You *might* be able to get a secondary from VCOM. I self-reported my score but didn't send out my MCAT score from AAMC. Thought I did, but alas. Their secondary said MCAT pending but I still got it.

You could opt for the 2 min video from BCOM instead! Two minutes vs. 500 word essay was a no brainer for me.

I believe for DMU COM you have to fill your own secondary because they do not prescreen

I did and yeah it doesn't give me login info also on the site it says the supplemental app is closed or something like that

I called the school, left a message, and also emailed the school with questions for next steps. I think in the meantime I'll just work on the essay prompts.

Same to ACOM, it says "we are no longer accepting applications at this time".
