I was a founding member of an honors fraternity at my college, but due to personal and financial reasons, I had to quit after a year. Would it be wise to just leave it out of my app?

I just don't want the time to be perceived as me being a quitter. I left because it was very disorganized and there was a lot of unnecessary drama within the founding class, so I ultimately decided it was not worth my money or time.
Are there a series of roles you took on that involved peer leadership during the "founding" process, or was your involvement mainly as a member of a new organization? If the latter, then omit it as an activity on your application.
We had very few founding members so every person was a chair or co-chair of a committee. I was a co-chair of the academic committee, where we organized academic events, as the name suggests. We all basically laid the foundation for the fraternity to grow, but a lot of people (including me) quit before we met the next class.
