I thought it might be interesting / informative to start a list of DAT study resources so that newbies coming in for the 2005-2006 cycle (like me!) can get a head start on gathering materials.

Here's what I've bought so far (in parens next to each is what I've mostly heard of the source so far, so your responses are particularly valuable!):

- Kaplan DAT Book/CD (best for the bio section)
- TopScore DAT CD (best for lots of practice tests)
- Barrons DAT Book (best for PAT preparation)
- Schaum's Outlines for Anatomy & Physiology and Organic Chem (supplements for me personally; not sure whether valuable to others)
- ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools (good for comparing DAT and other stats)

Here's what I haven't bought & won't 'cause I can't afford it (time or money):

Kaplan DAT Course

Here's what I haven't yet bought but would like to buy (PM me?):

Kaplan DAT Course Written Materials

Here's a question:

The names are so similar I thought I'd ask just to clarify; I take it that the Kaplan DAT Book/CD and the Kaplan Course Written Materials are two totally different entities. Now I know that the former is readily available and acquisition of the latter is dependent on the willingness / generosity of others to offer.
My questions:
- Is one of these resources better than the other?
- Is one essential and the other non-essential?
- Do they contain the same or similar information?
- Are they in completely different formats?
- Would you recommend getting either one or the other, or both?

Please add to this listing other resources you've used; the more the better!! 😀

does anyone have the princeton review? if so how useful is it compared to the kaplan book.

Don't forget Examkrackers.

The OCHEM 1001 is a must have.

The GCHEM 1001 is OK, but in my opinion is more helpful for the MCAT than the DAT. But the OCHEM 1001 is taylor made for the DAT, even though it was designed for MCAT prep *shrugs*

The GCHEM questions in the Kaplan Book, Barrons, and Topscore are better prep for the real DAT. But the examkrackers GCHEM 1001 is still good for extra prep if you got the time.
