So I'm wanting to apply to a few of the schools who mention literature as being part of the English requirement. For example, LECOM states: "A minimum of six semester hours of composition and literature."

This may sound stupid, but do they mean an actual Literature course?

I never took literature. I took English Composition and Technical Writing as an undergraduate to satisfy the required 6 hours. So, I'm wondering if it's pointless to apply to the schools that mention "Literature" as a prerequisite requirement?

Anyone have any experience/insight on this?

Once you apply to these schools, you may get an email stating you are deficient in the required courses. Have your college advisor write a letter/email to the adcom indicating that you have completed the English requirement- make sure they should include the course descriptions. Some institutions offer classes that are not defined English classes because they incorporate other disciplines as well. I had to do the same thing, and once my advisor sent the necessary information the problem was solved.
